CALAMBA, LAGUNA, PHILIPPINES — Maritrans Recycler, a leading electronics and materials recycling company based in Calamba, Laguna, has officially signed an agreement with Global Quality Services (GQS) to pursue a comprehensive ISO certification project covering ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems). This strategic partnership marks a pivotal step in Maritrans Recycler’s commitment to operational excellence, environmental stewardship, and workplace safety.
The three-standard ISO certification initiative is designed to build a robust management system framework that will directly support Maritrans Recycler’s ongoing efforts to achieve the globally recognized Responsible Recycling (R2) Certification. R2 Certification is a rigorous standard for electronics recyclers that emphasizes responsible data destruction, environmental compliance, and safe handling of materials — requirements that are significantly reinforced by having ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 in place.
“Partnering with Global Quality Services is a critical move for Maritrans Recycler as we elevate our standards and processes,” said a spokesperson for Maritrans Recycler. “These ISO certifications will not only demonstrate our commitment to quality, sustainability, and safety, but will also create a solid foundation that makes achieving our R2 Certification a much smoother and more structured journey.”
Global Quality Services, a trusted certification consulting and management firm, will guide Maritrans Recycler through every phase of the certification process — from gap analysis and documentation development to internal audits and readiness assessments. GQS brings deep expertise in helping recycling and manufacturing companies in the Philippines meet international standards efficiently and effectively.
“We are excited to work with Maritrans Recycler on this important milestone,” said a representative from Global Quality Services. “The integration of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 will align seamlessly with R2 requirements, giving Maritrans Recycler a significant competitive advantage in the responsible recycling industry.”
The certification project is expected to be completed within the coming months, positioning Maritrans Recycler as a model of responsible and certified recycling operations in the region.
